dc.description.abstractFrom the compressible Navier-Stokes equations for a reacting mixture, we reduce the system to obtain a one-dimensional 2-species polytropic gas combustion model. We examine the equilibria and determine their stability as well as identify the conditions that provide for the existence and uniqueness of a traveling wave/shock layer solution.en_US
