Abstract
The purpose of the following thesis is to document and reflect on the process of creating, and the substance of, the projection and caption design for the production of Hip Hop Anansi, directed by Paige Hernandez and produced by the University of Maryland – College Park School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. The documentation includes research materials, drafting, screenshots and production photos of the final designs as well as an analysis of feedback collected from a d/Deaf focus group on the effectiveness of the captions within the show.
