Abstract

The purpose of this thesis defense is to provide all materials needed for the realization of the lighting design of the University of Maryland Department of Theatre's 2008 production of The Ashgirl. This thesis consists of the following; research images to aid in the conceptual process of the lighting design, a rough wishlist which is preliminary paperwork when developing ideas for the lighting design, draftings of all three plates of the lighting design, as well as a channel hookup and an instrument schedule needed for the process of mounting the production. A magic sheet has been included which is necessary for the lighting designer during the cueing process in order to locate channels promptly, as well as a cue track which organizes all the cues written by the lighting designer throughout the course of tech and dress rehearsals. Archival photographs of the production have been included as well.
