Abstract

During my summer research, software for navigation of a bird-inspired robot from computer was developed and successfully tested indoors. An off-the-shelf PC to R/C transmitter device, PCTx, was used for programming the transmitter using C++. A visual feedback system was successfully tested while the bird-inspired robot was flown with a radio control system. A lightweight video camera with its video transmitter was placed onboard the robot during its flight. The videos transmitted during the flight were captured into the computer through a video capture device that interfaced the video receiver to the computer.
