dc.description.abstract | Many strategies for improving performance of distributed
programs can be described abstractly in terms of an application's overall
configuration. But previously those techniques would need to be implemented
manually, and the resulting programs, though yielding good performance, are
more expensive to build and much less easy to reuse. This paper describes
research towards an automatic system for introducing performance improvement
techniques based upon an application's configuration description.
