This session focuses on Virginia’s statewide commemoration of the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Virginia Museum of History & Culture and the Library of Virginia are the primary organizing bodies of the commemoration and are partnering with cultural institutions throughout the commonwealth. Presenters from four of these institutions will discuss their exhibitions, as well as their research projects and educational initiatives. They will highlight local history discoveries, successful collaborations, and the challenges of telling women’s suffrage history in the 21st century.en_US
