dc.description.abstractThis live, moderated discussion with two experts will provide a broad overview of the many reasons why open access and open science are beneficial and ethical in scholarly communication. Panelists include Sara Rouhi, Director of Strategic Partnerships at PLOS and Dr. Chris Bourg, Director of Libraries at MIT and Co-Founder of the Center for Research on Equitable and Open Scholarship (CREOS). Discussion and questions will be moderated by Mihoko Hosoi, Associate Dean of Collections, Research, and Scholarly Communications at Pennsylvania State University. The panelists will touch upon the ways that inequity affects BIPOC and women scholars throughout the scholarly communication life cycle. They will affirm the impact of “green open access” approaches and the ways in which open access models are changing to become more equitable and inclusive for members of the scholarly community.en_US
