Abstract
This report marks the inaugural edition of the Color Me Healthy Profile of Michigan’s Racial/Ethnic Populations. The purpose of this document is to highlight the health of minority populations and document the disparities that exist. Through empowering communities, local and state entities, we will be one step closer to our pursuit to eliminate racial/ethnic disparities in health across the state. Background The Michigan Department of Community Health has had a long-standing commitment to improve the health of all of the state’s residents. In 1988, the Office of Minority Health was established by executive order to serve as the coordinating body for minority health issues in the state of Michigan.
