Founded in 1882 and published in Upper Marlboro, MD, the Prince George's Enquirer and Southern Maryland Advertiser chronicled the news of the day. The Enquirer's editors generally reflected the views of their conservative readers, in a part of Maryland where agricultural concerns predominated. The paper provided a snapshot of local society and culture, while keeping its readers informed of broader national and international events.en_US
