This presentation will focus on the best practices for creating effective disaster response manuals and how each institution has developed policies to protect their collections and respond to disasters, including the outbreak of mold. Panelists will discuss their experiences and how creating response plans has changed the outcome of disasters – from working with a variety of different types of institutions to create emergency plans, to dealing with mold outbreaks (whether recurrent or discovered in a recent donation), to adapting an institution’s disaster response manual to address new concerns about collection storage and technology. How has your institution responded to the threat of disaster and what challenges have you encountered? The presenters encourage the audience to share their experiences.en_US
