Big Data, a one day conference and workshop within the UMD Libraries’ Interdisciplinary Dialogue Series, brought the campus community together to discuss big data at the University of Maryland. Throughout the conference, several leading campus scholars discussed how big data has impacted their respective fields and research. We also heard from a number of service units and student groups to learn how big data is being used across the campus. The conference portion was followed by a librarian-led data workshop designed to introduce concepts, resources, and methods for leveraging data-intensive research.
