    Abstract
This paper addresses the threat of MDR/XDR-TB on a global scale and presents a realistic assessment of the challenges associated with its containment.
    Notes
This paper argues that vertical programs—including those supported by public-private partnerships—can manage MDR/XDR-TB epidemics while simultaneously strengthening public health infrastructure at the community-level.
