In this paper, rules for a fuzzy logic based PID tuner (expert) for stable dominant pole plants with large rise times are derived. Applications of the expert to separator temperature control, and to pH control are presented. It is observed that the expert can successfully tune the PID gains without requiring any process identification.en_US
