Seismic swarms are sequences of earthquakes that occur over a small area in a short period of time, and whose mechanisms are poorly understood. My research proposes to develop a method to classify and characterize seismic swarms in order to better constrain their parameters, therefore leading to a stronger understanding of why swarms occur and what they can tell us about other geophysical applications such as volcanic activity or predicting larger earthquakes.en_US
