This project addresses current theories about children's understanding about passive constructions of sentence, and suggests a potential alternate to these theories. It proposes that children ages 4 to 5 years old struggle to comprehend passive constructions of sentences in previous studies not because of a lack of syntactic knowledge, but because of improper contexts for the use of passive sentence constructions.en_US
