Rekhtman, DavidWinner of the 2019 Library Award for Undergraduate ResearchThis paper is the accumulation of library and laboratory research regarding perivascular adipose tissue as it relates to cardiovascular disease and obesity. The study investigated the impact of isoproterenol, a drug known to imitate epinephrine and other stimuli of the sympathetic nervous system, on the expansion rate of fatty tissue in rats. This work may potentially lead to future human clinical trials to reduce obesity and cardiovascular disease prevalence in our population. Without the aid of dozens of scholarly resources, this project would not have been able to come to fruition.en-USCardiovascular HealthPerivascular Adipose TissueObesityAnimal studyThe Role of Adrenergic Intervention on Thoracic and Abdominal Perivascular Adipose Tissue Expansion in Rats with and without Heart FailureResearch Paper
