Lae, Chung KhimThis dissertation presents a simultaneous measurement of the branching fractions of ten <i>B</i> &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>(*)<i>D</i>&#38;#773;(*) decays. The measurements are derived from a sample of 2.32 × 108 <i>BB</i>&#38;#773; pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-&#38;#8545;<i>B</i> Factory located at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The branching fractions (×10&#38;#8722;4) are:      &#38;#8722;0.10 ± 0.47 ± 0.15 (&#60; 0.59) for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>0<i>D</i>&#38;#773;0<br />      1.01 ± 1.11 ± 0.35 (&#60; 2.92) for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*0<i>D</i>&#38;#773;0<br />      &#38;#8722;1.31 ± 1.10 ± 0.38 (&#60; 0.92) for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*0<i>D</i>&#38;#773;*0<br />      2.81 ± 0.44 ± 0.45 for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>+<i>D</i>&#38;#8722;<br />      5.72 ± 0.65 ± 0.71 for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*+<i>D</i>&#38;#8722;<br />      8.11 ± 0.57 ± 0.98 for <i>B</i>0 &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*+<i>D</i>*&#38;#8722;<br />      3.76 ± 0.59 ± 0.45 for <i>B</i>&#38;#8722; &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>&#38;#8722;<i>D</i>0<br />      3.56 ± 0.54 ± 0.40 for <i>B</i>&#38;#8722; &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*&#38;#8722;<i>D</i>0<br />      6.30 ± 1.35 ± 0.95 for <i>B</i>&#38;#8722; &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>&#38;#8722;<i>D</i>*0<br />      8.14 ± 1.20 ± 1.16 for <i>B</i>&#38;#8722; &#38;#8594; <i>D</i>*&#38;#8722;<i>D</i>*0<br /> The first uncertainty is statistical while the second is systematic. The number in parentheses is the 90% upper limit using the Feldman-Cousins method with systematic uncertainties taken into account. These measurements are consistent with the Standard Model predictions using the factorization assumption.en-USA Simultaneous Measurement of the Branching Fractions of Ten B to Double Charm DecaysDissertationPhysics, Elementary Particles and High Energybranching fractionsdouble charm decaysB to DDupper limitsfactorizationD(*)D(*)
