Feeding the Disenfranchised, the Orphan, the Widow, and the Dead

Abstract

This paper analyzes the current scholarly discussion with regard to the supposed practice of feeding the dead in ancient Israel and brings to light ancient evidence from prophetic, Midrashic, Talmudic, and rabbinic sources.
