Halyomorpha halys, or the Brown marmorated stink bug, was accidentally introduced to the United States in the 1990s. H. halys quickly became an invasive native pest, causing severe damage to local crops and agriculture. Since chemical and pesticide control was not effective, methods of natural biological control were investigated. Trissolcus japonicus and Anastatus reduvii egg parasitoids were strong candidates for biological control of H. halys. The goal of this study was to obtain a better understanding of T. japonicus and A. reduvii effectiveness as biological control agents of H. Halys by analyzing their life history parameters. Several factors regarding their longevity and reproduction potential were investigated. Specific features measured: 1) fecundity and progeny emergence, 2) mean lifespan of progeny, and 3) male/female sex ratio of progeny.en_US
