TerraPlan 2025-2026

Abstract

TerraPlan is the student-led planning journal of the University of Maryland Student Planning Association (SPA). This issue, Our Time: Memory & Imagination in Planning, explores how planners engage with history, memory, and the built environment while imagining more equitable futures. Through feature articles, reflection pieces, project spotlights, and studio projects, contributors examine topics including contested monuments, environmental stewardship, school geographies, transportation systems, migration, infrastructure, adaptive reuse, and urban design. Together, these works demonstrate the breadth of contemporary planning scholarship and highlight the role of memory, interpretation, and imagination in shaping communities and planning practice.
