Thank you for your messagae.  The following will hopefully address your
questions.

1.  The definitive versions means that the material you post electronically
must be identical in every way in editorial content to the original printed
versions.   If no changes are being made in terms of content, and someone
who accesses the material sees essentially the same content that one would
see if they had the book, then the electronic versions will meet our
requirement.

2.  Provided that the author is now a staff member at the University of
Maryland where you will be making available these electronic versions, you
have our permission to include the material you have indicated.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

2 questions:

1. Regarding the "definitive version of their chapter as published in
the Cambridge book (in PDF or HTML form)" - Dr. Carruthers has prepared
final HTML versions of his chapters - please confirm that these are
considered definitive versions.

2. Regarding the author's place of employment ("Inclusion of this
definitive version after one year in Institutional Repositories outside
of the institution in which the contributor worked at the time the
chapter was first submitted will be subject to the additional permission
of Cambridge University Press.") - Dr. Carruthers was at another
university (Sheffield) when 4 of the requested chapters were submitted
to you. I would like to request special permission, on his behalf, to
include these 4 in our institutional repository at the University of
Maryland. I have re-pasted the citations below.
